Verify ActiveCampaign lists and let automations act on the result
Connect ActiveCampaign with your API key, choose a list, and every contact is checked with a live mailbox test. The result arrives as a tag, which automations, segments and goals can use straight away.
- No export, no re-import
- Catch-all and unknown are free
- Nothing is ever hard-deleted
How the ActiveCampaign integration works
- 1
Connect ActiveCampaign
Paste your API key and your account URL, both from Settings, Developer. Every ActiveCampaign account has its own address, so we need both.
- 2
Choose a list
Pick the list you want checked. We pull its addresses and remove duplicates first, so an address listed twice is only verified, and charged, once.
- 3
We verify it in the background
Every address goes through the full check: syntax, domain and MX records, disposable and role detection, and a live conversation with the receiving mail server. The run shows in your Bulk Jobs like any other, so you can close the tab.

Results land in ActiveCampaign
Each contact gets one tag: pv-good, pv-risky, pv-invalid or pv-unknown. Because they are ordinary tags, an automation can start on "tag added" or branch on them.
What each result means
Every address gets exactly one of these, written to ActiveCampaign as described above.
| Result | Meaning | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| pv-good | The mailbox was confirmed to exist. Safe to send. | 1 |
| pv-risky | A catch-all domain: it accepts every address, so the mailbox could not be confirmed either way. | Free |
| pv-invalid | The mailbox does not exist. Sending here earns a hard bounce. | 1 |
| pv-unknown | No definite answer from the mail server (blocked, greylisted or timed out). | Free |
Cleaning up ActiveCampaign
Remove invalid unsubscribes those contacts from the list you verified. They are not deleted, so their activity and deal history stay in your account.
Removal is always your choice and never deletes anything. pv-risky and pv-unknown are never removed, because neither proves an address is bad. If a sync fails part way, nothing is written back at all rather than acting on partial results.
Why ActiveCampaign users verify
ActiveCampaign is built around automations that run for months. A bad address that slips in keeps triggering emails, every one of them a bounce. Tagging the verdict lets you stop that at the source: exclude pv-invalid from every automation's entry conditions.
What it costs
A ActiveCampaign sync costs exactly what verifying those addresses any other way would: 1 credit per definite answer (valid, invalid or disposable). Catch-all, unknown and error results are free, because none of them confirms anything. Credits never expire, and new accounts get free credits to try it, no card needed. See pricing for packs.
ActiveCampaign integration FAQ
Where do I find my ActiveCampaign API key and URL?
In ActiveCampaign under Settings, Developer. Copy both the URL (it looks like https://youraccount.api-us1.com) and the key.
Can an automation start when a contact is tagged pv-invalid?
Yes. The verdicts are normal tags, so "tag is added" triggers and if/else conditions work on them.
Does unsubscribing affect other lists?
Removal applies to the list you verified. The contact record and their other list memberships are left as they are.
