Email verification for publishers and newsletters
For a publisher the newsletter is often the product, and the subscriber count is what sponsors pay for. Fake, disposable and dead addresses inflate that count, drag open rates down and, on daily sends, hurt delivery quickly. Verification blocks them at the sign-up form and checks every list before it is merged or reported.

Where bad addresses come from
Gated articles and free downloads
Readers who want one article or report and nothing else sign up with throwaway addresses.
Giveaways and co-registration
Sign-ups collected through contests or partner forms are often low-intent and full of typos.
Bots on sign-up forms
Automated sign-ups add addresses that never open a single issue, and some of them bounce.
Acquired and merged lists
Lists bought with a title or merged from another newsletter come with their own history of dead addresses.
Where to verify, and what to do with the answer
| Where | How | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletter sign-up forms | Real-time API check | Block disposable and invalid addresses; offer the suggested typo fix for typos. |
| Before reporting audience numbers to advertisers | Bulk check of the full list | Report the reachable count. Removing dead addresses lowers the total and raises every engagement rate. |
| Acquired, merged or co-registration lists | Bulk check before merging into your main list | Merge only addresses that are not invalid or disposable. |
| Re-engagement of dormant readers | Bulk check of the dormant segment first | Send the win-back campaign only to addresses that still exist. |
Real-time checks use the email verification API; lists go through bulk verification (CSV or Excel, up to 500,000 addresses per file).
What to watch for in the results
Disposable sign-ups
Temporary inboxes are flagged as disposable. On a free newsletter they are the most common kind of fake subscriber.
Role addresses on trade titles
B2B and trade publications often have subscribers at newsroom@ or editor@. The role flag lets you keep them while knowing they are shared inboxes.
Platforms without an integration
If your newsletter platform has no integration with us, export a CSV, verify it and import the results. Your original columns come back untouched.
Every result comes with a quality to act on: good (send), risky (catch-all or unknown) or bad (invalid or disposable), plus a 0-100 risk score and the reason behind it. Read how catch-all detection works.
What it costs
Checking a newsletter list of 250,000 subscribers needs at most 250,000 credits: $233.33 at pay-as-you-go prices, about $0.000933 per address. Only definite answers (valid, invalid or disposable) use a credit; catch-all, unknown and error results are free, so the same pack often covers more. Credits never expire.

Questions from publishers and newsletter teams
Will verification lower our subscriber count?
Yes, by the number of addresses that cannot receive mail. They were never reachable, so open and click rates rise and the remaining count is one you can defend to advertisers.
Do subscribers receive anything when we verify them?
No. The check stops before any message is sent.
How often should a daily newsletter be verified?
Check every new sign-up in real time, run the whole list before audience reports, and verify any list before merging it. With real-time checks in place, a full pass every few months is usually enough.
Can we verify only new subscribers?
Yes. Verify new sign-ups through the API and leave the existing list for a periodic bulk pass. You pay only for the addresses you check, and catch-all and unknown results are free.
