BIMI checker: will inboxes show your logo?

Check the BIMI record at default._bimi, its logo and certificate links, and the DMARC policy BIMI depends on.

Free, no signup. DNS lookups only. We show the logo address but do not download the file.

Get the foundations right first

BIMI is the last step of email authentication, not the first. SPF and DKIM must pass for your domain, and DMARC must be enforced, before any inbox will show your logo.

Work through it in order with the SPF checker, DKIM checker and DMARC generator.

BIMI checker FAQ

What is BIMI?

Brand Indicators for Message Identification: a DNS record that points to your logo, so supporting inboxes can show it next to your authenticated mail.

Why is my logo not showing?

The usual reasons are a DMARC policy that is not enforced (BIMI needs p=quarantine at 100% or p=reject), no mark certificate for inboxes that require one such as Gmail, or a logo that is not in the SVG Tiny PS format.

Do I need a certificate (VMC or CMC)?

Gmail shows BIMI logos only with a Verified Mark Certificate (for a registered trademark) or a Common Mark Certificate. Some other inboxes show logos without one, based on sender reputation.

What should the record look like?

A TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain such as v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain.com/logo.svg; a=https://yourdomain.com/vmc.pem (leave a= empty if you have no certificate).
